is an artist, academic and curator whose work falls into the field of live art and interdisciplinary spatial practices. In addition to his work with Wrights & Sites, where he focuses on people’s relationships with places, cities, landscapes and walks, he develops practice as research in various contexts.
Stephen is Professor of Live Art + Spatial Practices at the University of Exeter, where he is an active member of the Center for Contemporary Performance Practices. He was head of the drama department (2012-2018) and director of arts and culture (2016-2021) at the university, where he was responsible for co-developing and implementing the university’s arts and culture strategy. He is (co-)author of several books: e.g. B.
