Martina Rösler und Steffi Wieser sind die Wiener Artist-in-Residence KünstlerInnen in der RedSapata Tanzfabrik in Linz. Eine weitere Arbeitsphase für die bei der CROSSBREEDS Plattform im März 2012 als Skizze präsentierte Arbeit UTOPIAN.
“The project utopian was first inspired by the festival Im_flieger Crossbreeds in March 2012 in Vienna. The theme global crisis and how to survive, leaded us to our personal strategy and approach, so-called utopia. We are looking for survival and solution proposals, in both theoretical and physical ways. Our starting points are philosophical and scientific discourses from Adorno, Foucault, Bloch and Lem and we try to create our individual approach to utopia, bodily and thinking wise. We want to research in theory and physicality finding bodily response to economic crisis, finding a fertile soil for discussion and opinions. For now, we are gurgling while talking, hiking on each other, throwing ourselves against walls and fighting for and against the future, meaningless or inevitably.
A new working method would be on one hand “The game of Life”, a strategy to analyse the predictability and unpredictability of future developments, on the other hand the concept of “homo economicus” which defines a person who acts rationally and always for his / her own good in order to maximize his / her benefit and advantage.”
Martina Rösler, geboren 1985 in Klagenfurt, studierte Tanzpädagogik an der Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität, zeitgenössischen Tanz an der Mimar Sinan Universität in Istanbul, sowie Theater-, Film-, und Medienwissenschaft an der Universität Wien. 2010 bekam sie ein Stipendium für eine Research Residency beim iDANS Festival in Istanbul und 2011 erhielt sie das DanceWEB Stipendium bei Impulstanz. Aktuell arbeitet sie zusammen mit dem Verein makemake produktionen, als Choreografin für das Projekt MACHT SCHULE THEATER in der Spielzeit 2011/12 am DSCHUNGEL Wien, sowie an eigenen Produktionen.
Steffi Wieser, in Wien geboren, absolvierte die Diplomausbildung klassischer Tanz, sowie 2006 die Tanzpädagogikausbildung an der Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität. Mit dem Auslandsstipendium der Kunst- und Kultursektion der Stadt Wien und dem Erasmusstipendium studierte sie zeitgenössischen Tanz am Conservatoire Nationale Superieure de Danse in Lyon und an der Escola Superior de Danca in Lissabon. Ihr Solo SPECK wurde für Artist at Resort im Tanz*Hotel Wien ausgesucht und präsentiert, sowie 2011 beim Österreich TANZT Festival im Festspielhaus Sankt Pölten, bei Page Not Found in Brooklyn/ New York und bei Dimanche Rouge in Paris gezeigt. Aufführungen unter anderem im Dschungel Wien, Kosmostheater Wien, ARGE Salzburg, Teatro Taborda und Malaposta in Lissabon. Im Sommer 2012 erhielt sie das DanceWeb Stipendium bei Impulstanz.
