This is an experimental dialog with my own body,
that interferes in any action I attempt.
The Soundtrack of my life.
I dance with tongue and diaphragm, and I sing with my spine.
You see dance and hear body.
It is a piece about failing, loosing and being a looser.
Konzept, Choreographie und Tanz: Jule Flierl
Descripition
Behind the process of this piece stands an anatomical question:
How can voice and movement interferre each other?
The research was focussing on the interfaces between dance- and voice- technique, both working with diaphragm, breathing and addressing into space. Physical actions manipulate the pathway of the air- resulting into voice- and produce unexpected and uncontrolled moments of sound, that give a deep acoustic sense of how body and voice function together.
The piece wants to give an inside view of the emotional body, by using the means of dance, voice and context of situation.
The spectator takes part in the moment of experience, in which presence turns into past, the place of ending- and starting again.
The choreographer and performer Jule Flierl is dealing with these issues for already 4 years. She has worked as actress and has sung in diverse performances. Her intention to overcome the mute dancer comes from an interest in using a wider spectrum of tools for communication on stage, as well as her fascination for the anatomical interdependence of voice and movements.
